Eagle´s Nest

With its incredible views, the Kehlsteinhaus delights numerous visitors in the summer months. However, the building, which is now used as a mountain restaurant, is also a reminder of the abysses of the Nazi dictatorship unser Adolf Hitler. Obersalzberg is seen as a holistic historical site during this period. In addition to the Eagle´s Nest, there is also the Obersalzberg documentation center, which acts as a place of learning & remembrance on the mountain.

Up the mountain

From the Obersalzberg parking lot, a special bus line takes you up the Eagle´s Nest. Hiking trailsare also signposted for the more athletic. A hiking trail leads directly from the campsite to Obersalzberg. The current opening times can be found either on the website or on site. 
Definitely worth a trip!
